Rechargeable Battery Types - definition

Types: All batteries we found in the market or multiple devices aren’t rechargeable at all. Few of them are rechargeable but most of them aren’t. So, it is necessary to know which one we should use. Battery technology has been developing from the very beginning of its journey. The challenge is to extend the charge holding capacity without increasing its size.

Now, there are so many types of rechargeable batteries that can be found in the market which are: lead-acid, Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), Lithium-ion (Li-ion), Lithium-ion Polymer (LiPo), and rechargeable alkaline batteries.

In today’s smartphone, most of the brands use Li-Po which is advanced in technology and offers better charge capacity with some other interesting features as well such as fast charging, smaller in size, less in weight, etc. Also, it is comparatively bit dangerous than the other types, previously the industry-standard battery type was Li-ion, which was comparatively safer than other types.
